Why can't I find the nonprofit I'm looking for on CrowdRise?

Charities on CrowdRise are US-based nonprofits or registered Canadian charities that meet certain conditions. If your charity is not on CrowdRise, please contact us.

In order to fundraise on CrowdRise, your beneficiary must be a registered US-based 501(c)3 nonprofits or registered Canadian Charities.

When setting up a campaign, make sure you select a nonprofit beneficiary when launching a campaign or under Edit Campaign. However, there are a couple of reasons why a nonprofit might not appear as a selection.

1. Incorrect EIN/BRN or nonprofit name

Make sure you are entering the nonprofit's name and/or EIN correctly into the search bar. Pay attention to spaces, dashes and titles when searching.

For better accuracy, search by the nonprofit's EIN number (US nonprofits) or BRN (Canadian nonprofits).

If you're unsure of a nonprofit's name or EIN/BRN, please consult Guidestar.org or Canada.ca.

2. The nonprofit does not meet eligibility requirements to accept donations on CrowdRise

In order for nonprofits to receive donations on CrowdRise, a number of conditions must be met, including:

  • Registered in US or Canada
  • Be in good standing with the IRS or Canada Revenue Agency
  • Have a valid listing on GuideStar (US) or CanadaHelps (Canada)
  • Accept donations from online third-parties

If you are nonprofit and believe your ineligibility to accept donations is a mistake, please Contact Us. For more information on eligibility requirements, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

3. The nonprofit has not been added to CrowdRise

If you don't see the charity you're looking for, it's possible that they have not yet been added to the platform. Please email us the following to add a nonprofit to CrowdRise:

  1. Nonprofit name
  2. EIN (US) or BRN (CA)
  3. Guidestar (US) or CanadaHelps (CA) listing
