What is GuideStar? What is Canada.ca?

Guidestar and Canada.ca are websites that list nonprofit information based on what is reported to the IRS or CRS, respectively. CrowdRise uses the information they provide to verify charity details.

US Charities

GuideStar collects information on nonprofits from the IRS and other sources and organizes it into one of the most respected databases of information about nonprofits. To qualify for a charity account on CrowdRise, nonprofits must be listed in the GuideStar database and recognized as a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit.

To get listed on GuideStar you'll want to make sure you have your IRS Letter of Determination handy and then follow These Steps. If you're already listed on their site, you may choose to claim and manage your GuideStar charity account on by following the instructions Here.

If you need any assistance or have questions about this process, you can reach GuideStar Support Here.
