What is multi-team fundraising?
Multi-team fundraising is a powerful fundraising feature that enables individual fundraisers to group up in multiple teams, all under the umbrella of a larger fundraising campaign. Individual fundraisers can then join one of these fundraising teams as team members, making it a campaign that is three levels deep.
The most well known example of multi-team fundraising is an event, like a race or a dinner. For example, let’s say an animal shelter is organizing a Lady and the Tramp-style spaghetti dinner to raise money for their cause. The campaign organizer creates the campaign (the dinner), teams join (team dogs vs. team cats), and individual fundraisers (attendees) join the teams.So how is this multi-team fundraiser different from your typical campaign with multiple fundraisers? Essentially, multi-team fundraising allows individuals to support your nonprofit on another level outside of their personal draw to your cause. For example, maybe they want to support you as part of a club, an alumni group, or by pledging allegiance to team dogs vs. team cats. Multi-team allows fundraisers to show support both as a group and as an individual.
Teams also add a healthy level of competition to the event, as teams race to out-fundraise one another — driving more support and, in turn, even more donations. All of the money raised by the individual fundraisers adds up to show the total amount raised by their team, and then the combined total raised by all the teams rolls up to the campaign total.

By using our newly redesigned Campaign Manager, you can see a list of all the teams in your campaign. You’ll also be able to add offline donations to the team, message the team organizer, message the entire team, list of all the fundraisers on the team, mark a team as official, and hide a team from the campaign and leaderboard.
