Feature spotlight: Ease of use

on September 24, 2018

“The human attention span has fallen from 12 seconds to 8 seconds… shorter than a goldfish.*”

Why should that statistic matter so much to your nonprofit?

Because it’s important to recognize that attention span doesn’t just affect how we scroll through our Instagram accounts. But, it also means that in this age of technology, we thrive best in a friction-free environment where we have change, solutions, and action available when we want it and how we want it. And that’s exactly why ease-of-use is such a core feature of our newly redesigned CrowdRise by GoFundMe platform.

We wanted to make it easy for nonprofits to tell their story and expand their mission, as well as extend that same ability to their supporters through easily created and beautiful campaigns.

Now you and your supporters are in control.

Created for nonprofits, built for supporters

When we designed the new CrowdRise by GoFundMe, we did it with the understanding that, not only do nonprofits use our platform, but so do their supporters. This made it even more important to create a highly intuitive design and focus on ease-of-use as core feature to the entire experience.

Faster and more efficient for nonprofits

Our goal was to create a platform that allowed nonprofits to move faster and do more on their own. This included adding more self-service features than ever before, such as campaign branding and editing tools, that are easily accessible and intuitive.

inBlog_1_EditRealTimeEdit in real time

We created a real-time editing view for campaigns, so you’ll know exactly how your edits and changes will look to the world without having to preview. Need a couple weeks to finalize everything on your campaign page? No problem. We added a publish feature that allows you to edit your story, add more pictures, and tweak your campaign all before anyone sees it. Simply press the publish button, and you’ll be ready to collect your first donation or sell your first ticket.

The bells and whistles, from anywhere

Speaking of editing, now nonprofits have the ability (and the control) to change up pretty much every aspect of their campaign page to make it as on-brand as possible. You can edit the design, content, or settings, set up a team template, and even add registration and ticketing. And, you can do all of this at anytime on any type of device.

Say you’re on the train and it just popped into your head that you wanted to add a custom ticket type that included parking for your event. You can hop on our mobile responsive platform from your phone or tablet and easily create and add that ticket type to your event registration.

Communication is key

The importance of effectively getting the word out about a new campaign can’t be overstated. While other online fundraising platforms might offer templated email choices, on CrowdRise by GoFundMe**, you have full control over email customization when it comes to both design and content.

You can now customize everything from the most basic types of communication such as confirmation receipts and thank you emails, to more specialized emails such as chargebacks, recurring donations, and even no-goal and no-money-raised emails. This allows nonprofits to speak to their supporters in a way that aligns directly with your brand, voice, and mission.

inBlog_3_PerfectEventCreate your perfect event

We know there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to a nonprofit event. Want to run a simple event where you just need people to register with basic information? Easy. Want to run a more complex campaign with varying ticket types, parking passes, merchandise add-on’s, and early-bird specials, team peer-to-peer, and more? No problem.

We designed the new platform to easily allow nonprofits the ability to add ticketing and registration to any CrowdRise campaign in order to customize the event that’s perfect for you. And, you can do so seamlessly from any type of device at anytime.

Intuitive, easy experience for supporters

Friction-free sign ups

Supporters visiting your campaigns on CrowdRise looking to purchase tickets, register, donate, or create their own personal fundraiser are all guided down a simple, beautiful, and intuitive process that not only promotes excitement for your event, but with strategic social sharing prompts, they’re also gently encouraged to share the fact that their attending, bringing in more attendees and raising more awareness to your cause.inBlog_2_ChatSupportSupport for everyone

We provide best-in-class support to your community members who are signing up for an event or running their own fundraisers. And, we found that when your supporters have a flawless and easy experience using our platform, it translates to a positive experience with your event and nonprofit — and ultimately turns them into supporters for life. This allows you to focus more on what matters most to you — saving the world. Leave the customer support to us… we’ve got you covered.

Customized fundraising pages

Your supporters aren’t full-time fundraisers, and a fundraiser they launch for you may be the first time they’ve ever set up a campaign for a cause. So, with that in mind, whether it’s their 1st or 100th fundraising campaign, we’ve created an intuitive fundraiser experience for your supporters that guides them through the entire set up and campaign launch process.

Supporters are able to customize their campaign pages to showcase why your cause means so much to them. They can add a picture, video, campaign title, story, etc. to really illustrate their connection to your cause. You can set the branding and theming so all of your supporter campaigns have the same brand guidelines, but they can then personalize other elements of their page to make it even more compelling to their friends and family.

Spend more time doing what’s really important

We want you to raise more money, gain more awareness, and continue to change the world for the better. That means you need to be able to do more, work faster, and have more control. And we proud to be able to build products to help you accomplish it all.CrowdRise-Ease-of-Use
