2016 is set to be a huge year in the online fundraising space. We're talking trillions of dollars. Okay, maybe not trillions, but that can be a goal for 2017. Don't believe me? Well then take a look at what Gail Perry at Fired Up Fundraising predicts about fundraising this year. It's good stuff and so awesome to see so many people giving back and doing a little good. But beyond the exciting growth of the industry, there are some very tangible and amazing fundraising events that are leveraging fundraising to make a huge impact. We wanted to just highlight a couple that we're super excited about here at CrowdRise HQ.
The Ironman Foundation is one of our favorite partners. We say that about a lot of partners but it's for real with Ironman - and they've raised over $3 million on CrowdRise. This year, they are fundraising around 11 separate Ironman events, and are hoping to raise another million dollars for their cause. It's pretty awesome and there are lots and lots of inspirational fundraiser stories within each of their event.
Yes. That was a Sisqo reference - and you can't do anything about it. Marathons are very hard things to do. But with CrowdRise, raising funds around these displays of superhuman will are very easy things to do.
- The 2016 Boston Marathon has already raised over $10 million. And since we started working together, we've raised over $50 million for hundreds of approved Boston Marathon charities. It's incredible to see so many passionate runners logging the miles and raise money for their favorite causes.
- This May Day, there will be a lot of people in Pittsburgh wearing those cool space blankets. But before they put on those space blankets they will be running a marathon and raising money in the process. They've nearly raised a cool half million, and with your help, they can raise a ton more.
- October 9th is important, not because it's John Lennon's birthday (as well as Sean Lennon's, which is weird), because this year it's the date of the 2016 Chicago Marathon. Fundraising is just getting started for the running-centric event, and you can get in on the ground floor and make some real money for some real good organizations.
The brave men and women who enjoy the idea of getting dirty as hell and pushing their bodies to the limit also do an amazing job of raising money for their favorite causes in fundraising events. Tough Mudderers have raised over $9 million in events across the country, and there are dozens more coming up in 2016. Check out their page now to get involved and see how you can be a badass but still raise funds for the causes that matter to you the most.
A Tidy Conclusion about Fundraising Events
So as you can see, there are a ton of fundraising events to look forward to in 2016, and this is just a small sample of all the events we already have queued up - more are being added every day. It's never been easier to raise money for your favorite causes, and if you can mobilize your efforts around these already-existing events then you can really maximize the work you put in.
